Announcing the Agriculture Track at Robotics Alley 2014

Agriculture is among our oldest and most important economic activities, providing the food and fuel necessary for survival. And with demand growing as populations increase, it's also one of the first industries to fully embrace the benefits of robotics.

Robotics today allows for more efficient production, better understanding of land resources and capabilities, and increased precision in food, agriculture, forestry and natural resource conservation. In fact, there is so much activity related to agriculture, this year's Robotics Alley Conference & Expo will devote an entire track to the topic.

The Agriculture Track is being chaired by Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie, who has assembled a program that includes:

• Livestock, Dairy, and Poultry
• Row Crops and Landscape Management
• Unmanned Vehicles and Aircrafts
• Hydroponics, Aquaponics, and Greenhouse Production
• Robotics in Food Processing and Distribution

Joining us will be experts in precision agriculture, dairy production, and UAV agriculture automation, including:

• Jim Salfer, Dairy Extension Educator, Stearns County
• Kent Cavender-Bares, CEO, Rowbot Systems
• Larry Johnson, Owner, LLJ Consulting & Business Development
• Gary Balas, Head, Department of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics and Co-Director, Control Science and Dynamical Systems, University of Minnesota
• Patrick Weldon, Project Manager, Polaris Industries
• Harlan T. Jacobs, President and Founder, Genesis Business Centers, Ltd.
• Jerry Johnson, CEO and Founder, Superior Edge, Inc.

Agriculture is just one of the 9 track focuses at the 2014 Robotics Alley Conference & Expo. Other tracks are Healthcare & Medical Device, Manufacturing & Assembly, Transportation, Security & Defense, Retail & Commercial Applications, Research & Development, Legal, Business & Investment, and Engineering.

We will highlight each of these tracks as the Conference approaches!
